The classes at Fountain of Life school have gone very well so far this semester. I have seen a definite change for the better in the attitude towards study and class in several students. Some have taken a liking to anything having to do with music, including the often-despised music theory! Private lessons are given to select students twice a week, opening up the opportunity to talk with students about their spiritual life.
One day, while speaking with a violin student, I realized more fully just what is happening with many of our students. Every day at the school, they are filled with Bible. Many high schoolers know all the Biblical answers. They can quote the Gospel, verses, know doctrine, and sing Christian hymns and choruses, and are just as lost as they can be. They have head knowledge, but not heart knowledge. Please pray that God will give me wisdom in sharing the love of Christ with these students! Pray that as they sit under the preaching of the Word, that God would draw them to Himself. Most of all, pray that they will open up their hearts to truly receive the Gospel.
In the midst of giving music classes, Abel and I had an interview at the U.S. Embassy on October 21. Other than the six hours of waiting our turn, it was a positive experience, and Abel received his visa to travel in the U.S. for our wedding in December! Looking back on the interview, we realized that there were several "small" details we were able to give that probably guaranteed us the visa, all of which were things we learned about each other in conversations that almost didn't happen!
We are excited about this upcoming change in our lives, and are looking forward to fulfilling God’s call to the ministry together.
